Hone is an exclusive artist residency designed for deep immersion in your encaustic practice, offering a unique blend of personal space, peaceful solitude, and enriching small-group communal time. Are you ready to sharpen your skills and dedicate yourself to your art?

The EncaustiCastle hosts four distinct two-week artist residency opportunities each year. We welcome four artists per session, each receiving shared studio space on the first floor of the EncaustiCastle—a truly expansive area filled with natural light. Residents also enjoy a private, off-grid bedroom equipped with air conditioning, heat, a composting toilet, and a tank sink. A shared kitchen and standard full bath/shower facilities are also provided.

After four years of dedicated reconfiguration and redesign to optimize our spaces, we're thrilled to open applications for our inaugural year beginning October 1, 2027.

• An application fee of $30

Each residency is supported by (entity revealed soon!), which allows us to keep the residency fee at just $1000 per resident. Please note that all materials, travel expenses, personal goods, and food are the responsibility of the resident.
